
Mumbai (Per.), Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday flagged off two new metro trains in Mumbai.
Today both these trains have been started for the general public. Metro Line 2A and 7 were flagged off by PM Modi. The running of these two new metros will provide convenience to the commuters traveling between Andheri and Dahisar. The connectivity of these new metros from Andheri East to Andheri West and Metro 1 will save a lot of time for commuters. If officials are to be believed, almost 3 to 4 lakh people will travel by these metro everyday. With the running of these new metros, the traffic on the Western Express Highway will also reduce.
Metro trains will run on the tracks at a speed of 70 kilometers per hour. At least 2280 passengers can board these two new metros at a time. Each coach has a carrying capacity of 380 passengers. There will be one coach for women in both metros.
CCTV cameras will also be installed. Along with this, full care will be taken for the safety of the passengers. Women security guards will also be deployed at every station. Let me tell you, Metro Line 2A will connect Dahisar East to DN Nagar. This metro line is about 18.6 kilometers long. These trains running on the Yellow Line are made in India.
